Work Permits

If you need a work permit for the summer, you’ll first need to complete an application.  The bottom must be completed by your employer before you can receive a permit; you don’t get a blanket permit for any job.  So just fill out the top half (don’t worry about superintendent signature), have your employer complete the bottom half, and return the application to me either in person or scan/photo and send by email.  I will then enter the information into the State system and produce a permit for you.  We can do that virtually anytime through the summer, but we do take vacation time, and during that time – for at least a week – students won’t be able to get permits.  So it’s definitely a good idea to plan ahead as much as possible!

NOTE: Most students ages 16 and 17 don’t need a full permit to work in the summer, just signed permission from the parent – which could just be your parent completing the application (attached) and turning that into your employer, or using the official parent/guardian consent form.  Some employers do still require actual permits, though, so you’ll use this process if needed.
